1st

Sweet fresh rain.

New leaves are stars among branches

spare and elegantly spaced.

2nd

A white veil over the land.

Musical calming rain.

Green drenched fields

and black thickets of hedges.

3rd

A fire moon.

Clouds are lit and clear.

Land shadowed, trees etched.

An owl calls in the blue twilight.

4th

A still day, breathing light and grey.

A quiet clarity of spring.

Mist and unlit earth,

purple thorn, fading bronze beech.

5th

A misted morning of gentle light.

Still.

Full of the song of birds —

a woven sound of notes and distance.

6th

A glancing, windblown lemon lit day.

Swift rushes of sunlight over the fields.

7th

I walked to the woods on the hill,

the wind a voice in the branches.

Air bright.

Fields yellow and green, shadows blue.

Rooks high in the trees blown by the wind.

8th

Hills radiant green.

Stream silver.

9th

The morning is a glow of mist and sunshine in white air.

10th

A rainbow

over the sharp, lit yellow of the fields —

a faint arch in the charged blue of the clouds.

Newly tipped branches copper-bright

in the storm stained air.

11th

Warm sunshine.

Golden evening.

Hailstorm icing the fields,

Rainbow.

Tempestuous colourful day.

12th

A yellow green day.

The woodland flowers under the hedges

are jewelled among the grass —

cowslips, primroses, violets, celandines,

new fronds of cow parsley.

13th

The valley is rich with green.

Living and full.

14th

I walked over the field to the top of the lane,

fields blue in the distance

under a clarion sky.

High above were cloudfuls of skylarks

singing rain music.

15th

A morning of frosted hills

in purple shade and shimmering gold.

Yellow spring light.

New leaves and white blossom.

16th

A little hazel tree

is a green blaze of light and leaf

before a still bare copse of shadowed branches,

17th

The woods are full of stars —

white anemones tender and wind shaken.

18th

A windblown day of light and blossom and leaves —

iridescent yellow,

rose,

transparent green.

19th

Long indigo shadows over mist whitened grass.

Blackthorn in full blossom —

white clouds over dark knotted hedges.

20th

The light is dazzling in the valley —

diffuse and golden over the hills.

Wild cherry blossom delicate in the evening air.

21st

Copper sunlit leaves on bowing branches.

Bright grass, blue green wheat.

The stream glints and flows along the emerald green field.

22nd

Edging the lanes, new white cow parsley among the grasses.

23rd

The air is sweet tonight,

fragrant with the honey scent of damson blossom

and blackthorns still snowy in the hedgerows.

24th

In the evening I walked up to the woods.

Cool sweet air —

mist veiling the lemon brightness of the day.

The moon rose in a lilac twilight — over trees

blue and cool shadowed.

25th

A rainbow after a swift, fierce hailstorm.

The earth is wet and darkened.

Clouds are ink blue above yellow fields.

26th

Bluebell woods in mist.

Rain softened.

Trees are drifting blues.

Beech leaves a glaze of new green.

27th

Fresh damp amber-green of horse chestnut leaves —

rising and falling in the air.

New growing grass.

Haze of bright hazel in the hedges.

28th

Drenching rain.

Birdsong full and lovely in the storm shining day.

Fields lit with green light.

29th

Storm clouds —

crushed violet, indigo dipped,

rising vast and shadowed

into pale blue sky.

Yellow fields, cherry blossom and emerald grass.

30th

Sunlit beech leaves.

Towering white clouds over deep yellow fields.
